I have no “price sheet” for engraving as there are far too any variables to consider. As a rule, I give an overall estimate for a commission. Some variables to be considered are type of firearm, disassembly, metal prep (stripping, sanding, polishing, etc.), the type of metal to be carved, style, borders, curvature of surfaces to be carved, custom lettering/figures, re-assembly, re-finish, etc.

With firearms, the first basic standard is the amount of coverage – 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, or full.

The average firearm engraving commission (not including smithing and finishing) is between $500.00 (light coverage) and $2000.00+ (full coverage).

On fabricated items the first thing to consider is the cost of materials and the price of metals varies on a daily basis.
