Historical Colt work, Weatherby-style plates and guards, and original designs. FFL on the bench.
BATF treats engraving as smithing. Because I hold an FFL, a firearm can ship to the shop and return without the client walking a background check for a simple transfer. That keeps the piece legal overnight and keeps the chain of custody clean.
Gold game figures on trigger guards and floor plates are overlays — proud of the steel — not inlays. After the cuts, parts are re-blued. Photographs should show the whole piece, not a tight crop of one scroll.
Styles I work in include the old Colt factory hands and the long, wide Weatherby “S” leaf with wigged fill inside bold scroll. Coverage runs from a light panel to a full gun.
