Greetings and blessings:
I started engraving well over 20 years ago as an apprentice under the saddle maker and silversmith William J Huston in Pendleton, Oregon. I was raised a country boy in Eastern Oregon among cowboys, ranchers, the Umatilla people, the Pendleton Roundup, and the Happy Canyon Pageant. That West is still in the work.
The first years were saddle and tack trim – horn plates, conchos, Western jewelry, trophy buckles, bits ,and spurs. Later I partnered with one of the country’s leading Colt restoration men on antique firearm restoration, preservation, and historical engraving. I studied the turn-of-the-century masters in depth: Helfricht, Ulrich, Young, and Nimschke. I learned to replicate each man’s hand and still fold those cuts into my own.
I specialize in firearms of every kind. I hold an FFL, so getting a gun to the bench and home again is a lawful, straightforward transfer. I still fabricate jewelry and Western pieces, and I engrave watches, knives, auto and motorcycle parts-anything that can be carved.
The shop is in Dayton OR.
